Welcome!  My name is Skip Heil and I hope you will find this site to be a  source for great childrens music, family products and general fun!  I wanted to create songs that I think will be immediately appealing – and still interesting  after repeated play.

My First album of childrens music titled:

“Look At That Face” – was inspired by my daughter. It’s fun listening and singalong songs with added sound effects.

My Second Album  “Look Before You Leap” I wrote as a concept of  safety songs. I think you will find this to be more fun than you expect.

Spaghetti Face – was my inspiration   and the Motivation for these songs and so are all kids because they are the spirit of fun and creativity.  At least mine anyway.

Look at that Face  CD lyrics
fun songs

After having been a songwriter and composer of many types of music such as rock, country, ballads and novelty songs I thought it would be fun and creative to try music dedicated to children. I was inspired by having a child and also by listening to all the artists that perform children’s music. I decided to go to the library and take home music of many different composers to get an idea of what was taking place with the many artists, performers and songwriters.

There are many different types of childrens music. Some geared towards very young children of years 2 to possibly 7 and then you have the other extreme, for example the Disney radio channel which can apply to the young child and up to the teenage years playing pop music.  Now it’s not hard to find lots of rocked out kid’s music. I decided to focus on  mainstream friendly easy to listen to music… and I found that at the time I was writing this music it coincided with the age of my child at the time.

My first album of children’s music “Look At That Face” was a basic outlet for creativity. I just wanted to have fun writing fun songs that would appeal to kid’s and hopefully parents also. The next album “Look Before You Leap” is dedicated to the concept of teaching safety issues to children in a fun way. It is not an easy trick not being too preachy while delivering a message.

I have included many jungle and animal sounds hence the jungle reference.
